Happy Birthday, Husband!

Jake turned the big 2-7 this past weekend! His family came up to celebrate with us and see some sights in Indy. We played guitars with Gerry, perused the local record store, and ate our weight in cupcakes and German food at the Rathskeller. It was a really fun weekend. We live fairly far away from everyone, so I loved having the in-laws around for a few days.

Happy birthday, husband! Here's to many, many more years of birthday memories with you. I love you!

Indy Winter Farmer's Market

Jake and I had a very rare free Saturday, so we met up with Van to explore the Indy Winter Farmer's Market. We bought quite an array of random things: natural floor cleaner, honey peanut butter, lettuce, and caramels made with bacon fat (SO good!). Plus, I loved spending time with my very dear friend. It was a great Saturday morning.

The Family Meets Dale

Sometimes we go to Disney World and geek out over meeting Dale of "Chip and Dale" fame. 

For serious, this was almost our family Christmas card.

New Years

On New Years Eve, we headed up to northern Michigan to visit with some of our friends. We don't get to see them very often, so we were very excited to see their cute little home on the lake and have some extended time to spend with them. We played truth or dare, ate great food, watched the ball drop in their small town, and met new people. We even met up with Jamesus and Ben in South Bend on our way up, and stopped in Holland, Michigan on our way back. It was quite the start to a new year!

Disney World: Magic Kingdom

No trip to Disney World is complete without a visit to the Magic Kingdom. This park is so quintessential Disney for me. The castle, the atmosphere...you just can't help but smile and feel like a kid again. And to visit during Christmas time? It's just the best.

The Grand Floridian Hotel is beautiful at Christmas time 

(plus, they have a life-sized gingerbread house!)

Disney World: Animal Kingdom

We headed to Animal Kingdom on day two of our Disney trip. Highlight of the park? The safari! Every year we go we see a few different animals, but this year was an extra special tour. Even the lions were out! We also love the Nepal-themed area. Such a neat culture.

We even saw a few animals (of the Star Wars variety) at Animal Kingdom.
