Petoskey, Michigan

A few weeks ago, Jake and I headed to the tip top of the mitten state to see our good friend, James, be married in Petoskey, Michigan. A friend's family owned a beautiful house right on Lake Michigan where we got to stay for a few days leading up to the ceremony. The scenery was so gorgeous I never wanted to leave! I could definitely get used to staying in northern Michigan.

The ceremony was beautiful, and we danced and talked and admired our surroundings all night. It was such a celebration of two wonderful people and the love they share. Plus, we met some great new friends that I hope we can go visit very soon. Don't you love when that happens?

Congrats to James and Ben! We are so happy for you.

House of Heroes: Davis Park Show

I still can't believe it, but Jake booked one of my favorite bands, House of Heroes, to play at Davis Park a few weeks ago! Dream come true! It was a blast watching them set up for the show, and getting to know the guys a little bit. Jake even found that Matt from HOH shares his love of comic books and Spiderman (that was a dream come true for him, too). Curt Anderson and Come Wind opened for them as well, rounding out a night of great music. To top it off, the concert had a great turnout of area youth and HOH fans. Best night ever!

Kels and Dav's Wedding (in Instagrams)

My little sister married a pretty wonderful guy on June 29th. The entire day was full of family, friends, love, and lots of smiles. Even the rain held out long enough for Kels to get all of her pictures outside. I was pretty proud of myself; this matron of honor didn't ugly cry during the ceremony (ok, maybe just a little)! All of the details of her big day were very "her" and full of thoughtful touches. That sister of mine worked so hard leading up to the wedding, and I'm so glad she had the wedding she deserved. I am so proud of her. Just a really, really memorable day for my family, and a wonderful way to start a marriage. Plus, I gained a great brother-in-law out of it.

Congrats Kels and Dav! Can't wait to go on double dates with you two! :)

PS- I'll post more wedding shots when the official ones are edited by the very talented Jenn and Andrea of My Cute Ladybug Photography!
