Apple Fest

I spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon in Batesville at Apple Fest this past weekend. I've heard about it for years, but never made it to the festival. My friends at the Hispanic Community Advisory Committee of Batesville and I sold homemade empanadas and had a great time meeting members of the community. What a wonderful start to the fall season!

 

I also witnessed the cutest thing I have seen in a long time. This little lady was playing the bass drum in the Eureka Band at the festival. When I'm up in years, I hope I'm as active and involved as her. So cool.

A Happy Weekend

Jake and I were given a rare gift: a free weekend! Somehow, all of the activities we had planned were cancelled on Saturday, so we had a day to do whatever we wanted. Being the first day of fall, we did lots of fall-themed activities (plus a trip to GameStop and the comic book store, of course).

We watched quite a hail storm from our front porch.

We bought fall mums.

I busted out my crock pot cookbook and made chili and cornbread.

...and we genuinely enjoyed our time together.

I headed south on Sunday and got to hang out with the family. We enjoyed a fall festival, ate stew, and I even crossed something off of my fall to do list: a Gator ride on Grandpa's property.

I might have to add that back to the list so I can see this beautiful site again. And maybe add a camping trip back there as well. :)

Happy Fall!

Happy first day of fall!

Here's my fall check list:

1. drink lots of cider from this place.

2. carve pumpkins.

3. have lots of mums on my porch.

4. take walks in the evenings.

5. admire the trees at least once on Grandpa's property.

3. visit the Renaissance Festival.

4. go to the Madison Chautauqua Festival of the Arts.

5. visit Starbucks way too frequently for their pumpkin latte.

6. make at least one of the hundreds of fall recipes I pinned on Pinterest.

Calm Down, Everything is Fine

Could not be more excited about this coming soon from Mike Mains & the Branches. By the way, this is at their house. I love it. Yet another reason to visit Michigan much more. 

Music in Morristown

We had a great Saturday full of friends and family yesterday. Letting Love played at the Morristown Summer Music Fest, which was basically in our backyard. My family (including my future bro-in-law!) and part of Jake's family came up for a visit and also got to see Jake play. Aud came up, and of course we had all of our Anderson band friends in as well. Since we live so far away from everyone, it was wonderful to get to share our home and our town with them for a day. I was a happy little lady. :)

Letting Love: Michigan Tour

This past Labor Day weekend, I tagged along with Jake and the kids in Letting Love for a little weekend mini tour to Michigan. And boy, was it an adventure with a broken down van, helping out with an accident on I69, little sleep, good music, meeting new friends, laughing, and lots of driving. Many many memories were made. Not bad for their first tour!

This weekend, I enjoyed good music.

Met new friends (thanks again, Austin, Emily, and Rocky!).

Enjoyed quality time with band friends.

Appreciated the wonder that is dry shampoo.

And felt very proud of my talented friends and husband.
