Spring Break!

I had a wonderful, glorious two weeks off for Spring Break this year. We didn't go on any big trips, but I had time to do all of those little things I never have the time to fit in during a regular work week. It was my favorite kind of week, really.

I made a dream catcher.

(almost) finished our gallery wall.

Redecorated a bit.

Listened to lots of tunes.

Got cranky because of this white stuff (but it is pretty).

...and read one of my favorites.

Our Favorite Magazines

Some of our favorites we read on a monthly basis. They come highly recommended!

Relevant Magazine. Specifically geared for twentysomething Christians who love music, pop culture, and social justice.

Kinfolk Magazine. Chock full of essays about food, travel, and the importance of creating a community of family and friends. It's kind of a Hipster's dream magazine.

gameinformer. Nerdy video game magazine that Husband likes.

Country Living Magazine. Lots of decorating ideas including flea market and vintage store finds. Right up my alley.

Midwest Living magazine. Recipes, decorating ideas, and travel recommendations throughout the Midwest. We actually planned our Louisville trip around their recommendations a few months back.

Operation: Dutch Oven Bread

For some reason, I've had the biggest urge to make my own bread- not out of a bread maker, but actually do the kneading and baking myself. From my research, I now know that this is a super long process that requires an entire day at home. You know what? I'm ok with that. Hopefully this day will come to me sooner rather than later!

I think this video from Kinfolk shows the process quite nicely. I guess I need to get a good, long book to pass the time...

I have been waiting for this day for a while now. I've been mildly stalking Kinfolk magazine's website for a few months, and Jake surprised me with a subscription for Christmas! I've gone to our PO Box the past few days waiting for it's arrival and it's finally here. Kinfolk showcases people entertaining small groups in a very natural, simple way. They're all about creating community with family and friends through small gatherings. I want to be friends with everyone featured in the magazine. Especially the bee keepers. Oh, the honey...
