Mikey Mains House Show

We were lucky enough over my spring break to host our friends in Mike Mains and the Branches for a few days while they were on tour. We were even more lucky when they agreed to play a house show for us! Such a fun Monday night. We had friends come in from Lafayette, Cincy, Indy, and even the Louisville area just for the show. Mike play songs acoustic and told stories for an hour in our living room. Many of our friends are fans of MMTB, but I think anyone who hadn't heard them before that night left with a CD or vinyl in hand. My friends even surprised me with a cake and singing for my birthday that was a few days away! It was just a really special night.
Even beyond the show it was just the best to get some quality time in with our friends in the band. They are always so busy and travel constantly, so Jake and I really treasure the time we get to spend with them every few months. We are so blessed by their friendship.

...and a little video for your listening pleasure. :)

Bits and Pieces of Fall

Now that December is here, I realize what a wonderful fall we have had. Full of trips and fall activities that always add up to this being my favorite season.

Beautiful trees in our yard and on our drives .

Sharing apples and conversation with good friends.

Enjoying multiple concerts, including an amazing one by The Lone Bellow.
Watching the Bengals vs. Browns in great seats, then outrunning a tornado to get home.
Enjoying a chicken dinner with my favorite vet on Veteran's Day.

...and cheering on the #1 Pacers during multiple games since October.

Lansing and Holland, MI

Jake and I took a little road trip to Michigan this past week. We were headed to Holland to attend a middle school youth conference Jake is looking in to, but we left a day early to meet up with our friends of Mike Mains and the Branches in Lansing as well. Usually our visits with them consist of a few minutes after a concert, so to just hang out and talking with them for an evening made the entire trip worth it. So blessed to have the time with them!
After shopping (and eating) in Holland, we visited with our friends Corey and Sarah who live near downtown. We love Holland so much! I mean, they have a windmill. Enough said.

We even snuck in a visit with some of Michigan's newest residents at their new apartment in Benton Harbor, MI. Can't wait to go back and explore this area more with James and Ben!
We really made the most of our short time in Michigan. We were so lucky that we had the chance to visit with so many friends in between our travels back and forth. Until next time, Michigan!

Sosaveme. Farewell Show

I've been meaning to post about this for a while, and now it's been almost two months! Where did spring go? Anyway, I had the absolute pleasure of attending one of the concerts on sosaveme's farewell tour. This band is made up of genuine guys who also happen to be great musicians. They have also been so supportive of Letting Love and even helped them get a spot as an opener for them at The Gear. It didn't hurt that our friends Mike Mains and the Branches played at the same show! Such a fun night, but also bittersweet. Sosaveme will be very missed!

Visits from the Branches

Our friends travel a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean they haven't been home in two and a half months! So the fact that we've had them at our home three times in the past month has truly been a gift. Even if it's just been a long enough visit to sleep and eat a quick breakfast, we've enjoyed our time with them so much. Plus, it's a great excuse to make guacamole and eat lots of pancakes. :) Can't wait to see them open for Relient K in a few short weeks!
